Impact '08 Staff


Executive Director
Liz Schrayer
Liz Schrayer serves as the founding Director of the Center for U.S. Global Engagement. She along with her colleagues at Schrayer and Associates, Inc. - a national political consulting firm – serve as the overall director and strategist for the Center. Ms. Schrayer also serves as the Director of the U.S. Global Leadership Campaign for the past 11 years. Prior to beginning her own firm, Liz served as the national Political Director of AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee). She worked on Capitol Hill and in state Government and has traveled across the country organizing citizen advocates on various issues.

Policy Associate
Uri Ferruccio
Uri Ferruccio joins the Center after completing an Arabic language program at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. Before joining the Center, Mr. Ferruccio interned at the Migration Policy Institute and at the International Center for Transitional Justice while attending the Bard College Program for Globalization and International Affairs in New York City. He previously studied at the University of Jordan on a U.S. Department of State Critical Languages Scholarship. Mr. Ferruccio graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Asian Studies. During college, he studied in China, Taiwan, and India. He speaks conversational Mandarin Chinese and intermediate Arabic.

Communications Director
Richard Parker
Richard Parker joins the Center after serving as the Director of Communications for the Peace Corps. At the Peace Corps, Parker oversaw the creative, Internet, marketing, press, and video production offices within agency. Previously, Parker served at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where he was Special Assistant to the Deputy Secretary focusing on international health issues and positive youth development. He also served as Deputy White House Liaison for the department. Prior to his time at HHS, Parker was the Director of Public Affairs for the Office of the Secretary of Health and Human Resources for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Before his government experience, Parker worked in communications and marketing for the American Red Cross and Levi Strauss & Company. Parker has a master's degree in public policy from Regent University and a bachelor's degree in business management from North Carolina State University.

Tom Vogel
Tom Vogel joins the Center from American Capital Strategies. Prior to that, he was with Governor Tom Vilsack’s presidential campaign in Des Moines, Iowa serving as an organizer and with Governor Vilsack’s Heartland PAC, working in support of local and statewide candidates during the 2006 elections. Before joining Heartland PAC, he worked with the Foundation for the Development of Needy Communities in Mbale, Uganda, assisting with the Foundation’s vocational school and nutrition center. Mr. Vogel is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Political Science and African Studies.  

Communications Associate

Madeleine Pryor
Madeleine Pryor joins the Center from the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming. Prior to her most recent position, she was with the USAID-funded SanteNet Project in Madagascar, where she photographed and interviewed people in rural communities throughout the country to gauge the impact of a community mobilization initiative focusing on better health and environmental practices. Ms. Pryor is a recent graduate of Tulane University where she received her Bachelors in International Relations and International Development.

Deputy Field Director
Jenni Rothenberg

Jenni Rothenberg is a graduate of Boston University College of Communication where she received her Bachelor of Science in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. During her time at Boston University she served as an intern with Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney and at O’Neill and Associates, a Boston based PR firm. Ms. Rothenberg was also instrumental in establishing the Denver-based Campaign to End AIDS Youth Action Institute, a youth-led organization dedicated to ending HIV/AIDS.

Program Director
Beth Neary

Beth Neary joined the Center after having served as External Relations Manager/Senior Grant Writer at Citizens for Global Solutions. In her position with the Center, she is responsible for the development and stewardship of grant proposals and program development, including aspects of the Center’s Impact ‘08 project. Ms. Neary received her Masters of Science in Conflict Analysis and Resolution at the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University, and received her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Peace and Conflict Resolution at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
 
Program Assistant

Allie O'Leary
Allie O’Leary joins the Center after working on the Obama campaign in Columbus, Ohio where she coordinated out-of-state volunteers and housing. Prior to her work on the Obama campaign, Ms. O’Leary interned in the finance department at the Denver 2008 Democratic Convention working as the assistant to the CFO. Ms. O’Leary is a recent graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, focusing on American Government and also minored in Women’s and Gender Studies. While at Cal Poly, Ms. O’Leary served for two years as Co-Chair of the Open House program, an annual three-day event hosting 40,000 guests to the campus.
